Discrimination, could be viewed as the giving of an unfair advantage or disadvantage to employees; fair and equal treatment of employees on the job.
The merger will bring about a broader diversity to the company, if address correctly will be a great benefit. A diverse work place would allow the company to break new ground to a larger job market and customer base that would allow the company to remain competitive. A more satisfied workplace will lower the cost in absenteeism and turnover. Improve team work within the company and insure all employees know what is expected of them and what necessary resources are available so they could accomplish their jobs. Promote quality awareness, customer satisfaction and treat all employees with dignity and respect.
I suggest that all first level managers schedule a meeting with their department and discuss the importance of the merger and their role with the company. Re-establish the importance of managers behavior, management action with employment laws and working within a diverse work environment. Discuss the concern and question of your employees. Please summaries your meeting and report to me as soon as possible so I could present review to upper management.
