    Upon arriving at Turkey Run, the class observed two different areas; a modern sedimentary environment and an ancient sedimentary rock. The modern sedimentary environment was a shore next to a river, with a wide assortment rocks and minerals. Among the rocks seen at the shore were sandstone, limestone, calcite, quartz, muscovite, and granite. Overall, the sediment was not very well sorted, was subangular and had varied sizes of grains from pebbles to sand to silt.
